Welcome to the Surgical Wait Times Website

The Surgery Wait Times website is designed to offer information about wait times for scheduled surgical procedures in B.C. The Wait for Surgery represents a component of the total waiting time for surgery, from the date the health authority receives the booking form to the date that the patient receives surgery. The data presented is a snapshot of scheduled surgeries completed in the most recent 3-month time period available.

The data is reported for patients aged 17 and over (adult) and patients aged under 17 (pediatric). The data for Open Heart Surgeries and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts is reported for adults aged 18 and over to be consistent with how cardiac wait times data are reported nationally.

Please note that St. Joseph's General Hospital closed down at the end of September and was replaced by the new Comox Valley Hospital facility and will therefore have no more completed surgeries from October 2017 onward.
